Governor Sununu announced that covid projections show 500 – 1,000 new cases per day in New Hampshire for the next six weeks. The level of community transmission has reached substantial (red) levels in Grafton County. The nation and New Hampshire are seeing rapidly worsening epidemiology. With holiday’s approaching, the Crossroads community should know that any travel, to anywhere, increases an individual’s risk for getting infected and/or transmitting COVID-19. Staying at home during the Thanksgiving and December holidays continues to be the best way to protect yourself and others from COVID-19.
The safest way to celebrate the upcoming holidays is to gather only with those who live in your home. Hosting social gatherings, even small ones, are increasingly responsible for the positive cases in New Hampshire; particularly when gathering indoors, without wearing masks, or when physical distance of at least six feet can not be maintained. There is no gathering that is exempt from this risk. Our faculty and staff have committed not to travel over the Thanksgiving holiday. This will ensure we are healthy and ready for three full weeks of in-person schooling that is planned for December.
New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (NH DHHS) has updated the travel quarantine guidance: traveling outside of New England must complete a 14 day quarantine or a seven day quarantine with a negative covid-test administered on or after the seventh day of quarantine. Please remember, if your child travels outside of New England during the Thanksgiving break, he or she may not attend in-person school for 14 days or seven days if they have a negative PCR covid test taken on/after their seventh day of quarantine. Your child may access our distance learning option during their time in quarantine.
If your family plans to spend Thanksgiving with family or friends who do not live in your household, even if guests are local, please read the CDC holiday guidance with steps to make your gathering safer.
