As of yesterday, Grafton county (~90,000 people) has 107 identified active cases of COVID-19. Lyme has zero active cases, Hanover has 17 active cases, and Lebanon has 1 – 4 active cases.

Each month, Crossroads Academy highlights key intellectual, moral, or civic virtues. November’s virtues of gratitude and stewardship are a timely time to tell our teachers and families thank you.

Gratitude is thankfulness for the gift of life and the gifts in life. We are grateful for the gift to be well, the gift to be able to go to work, and the gift for our children to go to in-person school.  We are grateful for those at the frontline – our teachers – who carry out health policies day in and day out.  I am grateful to our families who are sacrificing conveniences and making responsible choices on behalf of their children.

Stewardship is caring for the gifts given to us – our life, our world, our talents, and those entrusted to our care. Having our school open to in-person learning during this global pandemic is a privilege.  Many of us are seeing our friends across the US and abroad forced to work remotely and their children returning to distance learning. Our teachers, students, and families are the stewards in keeping our school community healthy.  Thank you for accepting the idea that layering mitigation efforts will help keep us healthy and open throughout the pandemic.  We ask you to continue to be unrelenting in your commitment to the health policies as we face the holiday season and the next wave of the pandemic.
