Kindergarten

100 DAY DOT HEARTS: Kindergarten students created these colorful heart artworks to celebrate one hundred days in school! While creating they were tasked to count the dots and see if they used 100 (or more)!

First Grade

COLLAGE PENGUINS: The first graders created these mixed-media penguins inspired by the friendship story of  Penguin and Pinecone.

WARM & COOL HEARTS: After learning about living artist Jim Dine, students celebrated the symbol of the heart by creating these warm and cool oil pastel watercolor resist artworks.

Second Grade

JOHN JAMES AUDOBON CARDINALS: Second grade students created these wonderful paintings of cardinals after learning about John James Audobon, American ornithologist, naturalist, and painter. 

Third Grade

WINTER LANDSCAPES: Third grade students created mixed-media “stained glass” winter landscapes.

SNOWMEN AT NIGHT: After reading, Snowmen at Night students used chalk pastels to capture value in their creations to help create a 3D effect.

Fourth Grade

ISLAMIC STAINED GLASS WINDOWS: Fourth grade students looked at a variety of Islamic art and architecture. They each focused on a geometric design capturing the colorful stained glass windows found in many mosques. 

WINTER PRINTMAKING: Students created a textured landscape design and then used foam plates to make multiple prints.

Fifth Grade

M.C. ESCHER TESSELLATIONS: Fifth grade students created tessellation designs using combined geometric and organic shapes with no overlaps and no gaps inspired by mathematical artist M.C. Escher.
