Symptomatic students and staff:
Students and staff who are experiencing viral symptoms must test as soon as possible. **If you choose to test with an antigen test and it is negative, then the antigen test must be repeated in 24 hours then again at 48 hours. You may elect to do a PCR test in lieu of the antigen tests. Students and staff must be symptom-free for 24 hours and COVID negative before they return to school.
Close Contacts
Unvaccinated Child:
If your child who is a close contact is unvaccinated:
- Your child will need to stay home and quarantine and may not attend school for at least 5 days from the date of exposure.
- The last date of exposure is considered Day 0.
- If the last date of exposure was on Wednesday then Day 5 would be Mon.
- Your child will be required to wear a mask around others for 10 days at school, and will need to eat lunch and snack outside, or away from others if the weather does not permit.
- Your child will require a rapid antigen test done on **Day 3 and Day 5. These must be negative prior to returning to school.
- If symptoms develop during quarantine then a rapid antigen test should be done at the onset of symptoms. Even if test results are negative, your child must be symptom-free for 24 hours and cleared by the Health Office to return to school.
Vaccinated Child:
- Fully vaccinated students may attend school if they do NOT have any symptoms.
- Your child does not need to quarantine, and may attend school in accordance with our test to stay policy: a rapid antigen test should be performed each morning before school for **5 days.
**Change from previous policy.
