Dear Parents,
January is rapidly coming to a close and soon teachers and families will be planning for our February vacation week. I write today to provide information about how the school will approach February vacation during the pandemic.
- February break will run as planned from Saturday, February 13 to Sunday, February 21. Classes will resume in person on Monday, February 22. Our hope is that students will be healthy and able to safely return to campus with their peers and teachers on February 22.
- There will be no February vacation camp this year. The more casual camp environment involves inevitable mixing of students of different grade levels, so we have chosen to forego this offering in order to maintain our classroom cohorts.
- The CDC and the NH Department of Health continue to discourage all non-essential travel at this point in time. Any travel increases the risk of getting infected with and spreading Covid-19; staying home and remaining local is the best way to protect yourself and others from getting sick.
- The NH Department of Health also asks all of us to continue to wear masks, avoid gathering with those outside our household, and thoroughly wash our hands. Our shared dedication as a school community to following these guidelines is the best way to keep our children in school and healthy.
Our teachers love having your children with them for in person instruction. While remote learning is sometimes necessary, teaching on both platforms is very challenging for teachers. The remote learning model is also less beneficial for your children. We are hopeful that you will do all that you can to ensure that your children can see us bright and early, and in-person, on February 22.
All the best from all of us, Jean
