At the end of February, students and teachers were given a “sneak peek” of the interior of the Fanger Center through guided tours of the new building. While it has been amazing to witness our future middle school taking shape from views throughout the campus, walking within the interior and envisioning the way each space will be used made the building come to life!
Conneston Construction, Inc (CCI) has made great leaps and strides since our last community update, and we are pleased to report that the building’s construction continues to be on schedule to open in the late summer. Perhaps most significantly, the exterior of the building is now weathertight, allowing work to continue within the interior regardless of what winter weather might still be around the corner. Carpenter crews are now focused on framing the partitions for classrooms, offices, and other spaces while electricians and plumbers are completing their vital work. Meanwhile, the exterior colors of the building have been selected and interior paint, flooring, and tile colors are now being determined. Surrounding the building, a near-final grading and landscaping plan is being evaluated and discussed with the construction manager.
It is incredible to witness the efforts of all of the people involved in making this building become a reality. Each step is being coordinated in concert and former Crossroads parent and Trustee Emeritus Phil Harrison deserves a great deal of credit for his extraordinary work overseeing this multifaceted process.
