Formerly the Director of Admission at Cushing Academy, a 9-12 day and boarding school in Ashburnham, MA, Dan Morrissey is excited to join the Crossroads Academy Team at Head of School. Prior to returning to New England in 2018 to be closer to family, Dan served Western Reserve Academy (OH) as the Dean of Admission and Financial Aid for five years. Dan is excited at the possibility of returning to New Hampshire as he spent many years teaching and serving as an administrator at Phillips Exeter Academy, first from 1990-2004, and then returning again in 2007 and staying until 2013. During his years at Exeter Dan served the Academy in a number of capacities. He taught a multi-disciplinary Humanities course to 9th Graders and a laboratory-based Sports Science course. Dan was Dean of Students, served as the Director of Exeter’s Summer Sports Academy, and began his career in admissions there. During his three years away, Dan served Baylor School (TN), a 6-12 co-ed, day and boarding school, as the Dean of Residential Life. Throughout his career, Dan has presented at numerous independent school conferences, contributed articles to industry publications, and authored a workbook for independent school advisors entitled Teaching Clarity, Purpose and Motivation (and yes, you can find it on Amazon). Dan earned his undergraduate degree from Boston University and has a Master of Education in Educational Administration from Antioch New England Graduate School. Dan hails from a family of educators. His mom and aunt were teachers, and both his brother and sister teach. Dan and his wife Cindy are the parents of five grown children.
